Can the people on my call see the overlay?
It is excluded from screen sharing and screen recording, so it does not appear in the shared feed. It is not absolute invisibility though: a phone or camera pointed at your screen would still see it. For safety, share the application window rather than your whole screen.
Which video apps does it work with?
Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet. Unserious captures the interview audio and works independently of the calling app.
Is my data safe?
Your interview profiles and settings are stored locally on your Mac, as JSON, and are not uploaded. Your account holds only your email and subscription state on our servers (Supabase). During an interview, the audio and detected questions pass through our backend to OpenAI (transcription) and Anthropic (answers), and are not retained by Unserious. Can I cancel whenever I want?
Plans are month to month with no commitment, cancellable anytime. Paid checkout is not live yet, so subscriptions will open soon.
What system does it run on?
macOS (Apple Silicon) today, with Windows support coming soon. An internet connection is required during the interview.
