Privacy Policy
Last updated 27 June 2026.
This policy explains what data Unserious handles and where it lives. We have tried to keep it plain and accurate. If anything is unclear, write to hello@unserious.live.
What stays on your device
Your interview profiles and settings are stored locally on your Mac as JSON files. They are not uploaded to us.
Your microphone is used locally, on your machine, for voice detection, so the app does not respond to your own voice.
Your account
When you create an account, we store your email and your subscription state (plan, status, and your Stripe customer ID) on our servers (Supabase). So yes, there is a remote database, but it holds your account information only, not your interview content.
During an interview
While an interview is running, the audio (the interviewer's voice) and the detected questions pass through our backend, which forwards them to OpenAI (for transcription) and Anthropic (for the answers). This content is not retained by Unserious. It is subject to the policies of those providers.
Payment
Payments are handled by Stripe. Stripe stores your card details. We only store your Stripe customer ID, never your card number.
The overlay and screen sharing
The overlay is excluded from screen capture and screen sharing through a macOS protection. This is not absolute invisibility: it does not protect against a phone or camera filming your screen.
Third parties we rely on
- Supabase, for accounts and subscription state.
- Stripe, for payments.
- OpenAI, for transcription during interviews.
- Anthropic, for generating answers during interviews.
Your choices
You can delete your interview profiles locally at any time. To delete your account and the associated data we hold, or to ask about data location and GDPR, contact hello@unserious.live.
